Gypsy Character Descriptions and Principal Audition Sides
Principal audition sides are now available for Gypsy! Download and learn the sides for the parts you are interested in.- For In-Person Auditions - After you have done your general audtion, you may be asked to stay for call backs. If you are asked to callbacks you will be asked to perform one of these sides. Do not perform these sides as part of your general audition. Your general audition should be a song and a monologue from a show MST is not producing this year. These sides are for callbacks only.
- Recorded Auditions - If you are submitting a recorded audition, you should include recordings of you performing sides for all parts for which you wish to be considered, in addition to your general audition song and monologue. Your general audition should be a song and a monologue from a show MST is not producing this year

If a character does not have a link there is no side for that part and casting will be based off general auditions.

| Mama Rose | Low F to C | The Mother. Rose is the ultimate "stage mother", aggressive and domineering, pushing her children to perform. |
| Baby June | Eb - Eb | Rose's baby daughter. An extroverted, talented child star. Approx 9 to 10 years old |
| Baby Louise | Eb - Eb | Rose's other baby daughter and June's introverted, shy older sister. Approx 10 to 12 years old |
| June | A flat to D | The older version of June. 15 - 16 years old. Pretty, talented and frustrated with Mom's domination. |
| Louise | C sharp to E flat | The older version of Louise. Shy and loyal. At Mom's prodding, she becomes the famous stripper, Gypsy Rose Lee. Approx - 17 to 18 |
| Herbie | Baritone | Candy salesman and Rose's manager. Reluctant manager of the act. Loves Rose and the girls, but his patience has limits. |
